I’ve been weary

The past few weeks I have been at a low point physically, emotionally & worst of all – spiritually.

I ended up catching a virus last week and missed several days of work. I was a zombie all weekend, but had the assurance I didn’t have strep or pneumonia after a visit to the doctor.

When you feel bad it has a tendency to suck the life and joy out of you. My husband prayed for me and encouraged me to roll my whole burden on the Lordwhich I did.

This morning when I got to my desk, I flipped over the pages on my daily encouragement calendar and saw this:

I let the Lord know that this reminder seriously encouraged me today. As I was thanking Him and choosing to face today one task at a time, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the following verse from Isaiah:

Isaiah 40:31 The Passion Translation (TPT)

But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace
will experience divine strength.
They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles,
run their race without growing weary,
and walk through life without giving up.

I decided to look it up in The Message version also. I have included verses 27-31

Isaiah 40:27-31 The Message

Why would you ever complain, O Jacob,
or, whine, Israel, saying,
“God has lost track of me.
He doesn’t care what happens to me”?
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?
God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.

Hope this blesses you as much as it did me.
