Bless the Lord, O my soul…

I want you to focus on how many times the word “all” is used in this faith-increasing Psalm. Not only the number of times, but the object and context of “all” throughout this beautiful passage.

Read about God’s faithfulness, His character, His acts of compassion, His mercy & His kindness highlighted throughout this song of worship, exhortation & praise.

You are not too far gone, you are not without hope…if your hope is in the Lord.

Blessings ❤

Psalm 103

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
14 For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like grass;
    he flourishes like a flower of the field;
16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
18 to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
19 The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
obeying the voice of his word!
21 Bless the Lord, all his hosts,
his ministers, who do his will!
22 Bless the Lord, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!

I am the Lord that healeth thee

Are You Hurting Today?

Jesus holding weary man

I’m praying that God will minister His comfort, healing, peace and freedom to you as you reach out to Him today.

Leaving sins un-confessed or living with wounds that have not healed can be likened to sterling silver dulled by neglect…

Tarnished Silver

A tarnish forms over the object, corroding the surface of the metal, obscuring the shine.

Like a blackened pitcher, we continue to function, yet something isn’t quite right.

Our hidden sin is affecting our countenance, our joy and our life.

Emotional wounds become evident when someone says the wrong thing at the wrong time…

…or tries to get close…

…or when things don’t go our way.

You get the picture.

But there is solution.

We are never alone.

God promises that He will never leave us, fail us or turn us away:

“…for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” Hebrews 13:5b Amplified Bible

In His love and mercy, God has made a way for you to be cleansed from sin, and from the effects of sin:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

No matter how bad your sin may be, it isn’t beyond God’s ability to forgive and make right:

“Come, let’s talk this over! says the Lord; no matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

But don’t stop there! Being made righteous is wonderful and necessary, but receiving healing for your soul and body is part of salvation too:

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

“He restores my soul…” Psalm 23:3a

“The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.” Psalm 41:3

I want to leave you with this final word, a beautiful passage of scripture that encompasses both the sin and the sickness, in whatever form it takes. You don’t have to live with fear, depression or condemnation a minute more. Grab hold of this truth and speak it out loud. Your heavenly Father loves you and wants you to be free!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Psalm 103:1-5

All means all, so allow this truth to settle deep within your heart. Only believe– you will see His promise manifest in your life!

Prayer for Today

I received a prayer in my email today and it blessed me as I read through it.

As I prayed it over family, friends and co-workers it blessed me even more. I slowed down, allowing the Holy Spirit to expand and enlarge the prayer, and bring more people to mind.

God is so good, so faithful…

May it touch you and move you to call on God as well:

Today’s Prayer
God, today, I want to make time to pray for all the people I see on a regular basis: my co-workers (say names), my family (say names), my friends (say names), my neighbors (say names), my church leaders (say names). You know every need they have. I pray that You would give encouragement to the discouraged, good health to the unhealthy, money for the financially needy, peace to the restless, guidance to the lost or searching, and that You would meet any special needs that each of these people may have right now. God, I pray for their spiritual as well as physical needs. Work through me as you see fit to accomplish your plan and meet these needs. Please give me wisdom and guidance to know your will and help me to realize where there is a need to which I can minister. I thank You God, for hearing this prayer and for your answers. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Prayer Request

“Many are captured as they watch the dire, unfolding events in the Middle East, Africa, China and elsewhere. Yet the Lord’s end-time command was not just to “watch” but to “watch and pray” (Mk 13:33 KJV). Imagine, therefore, if instead of just watching, every Christian prayed the news? Or if each of us interceded when we heard an ambulance speed by or we turned to prayer when we read an urgent request on Facebook. Remember: the command is to “watch and pray,” not just watch. —  Francis Frangipane, In Christ’s Image Training, Ministries of Francis Frangipane

Join me in praying for the people involved with the Ebola Virus in the US and abroad:

Holy Father, we come to you today asking for your intervention with this deadly disease. Have mercy on the people abroad and in the US who have been exposed to, or have contracted the virus. Protect the aid workers, the health care professionals and maintenance staff who are working with the infected- keep them from harm. Father, have mercy and please heal those afflicted with this disease. Comfort and ease their pain and suffering. Drive out the anxiety and fear that is threatening to overtake them.

Please bless the researchers and doctors who are seeking a cure for this disease. Bless their efforts and give them the revelation and wisdom they need for a vaccine. Be with all of them.

Above all, Holy Father, bless the people who don’t know you yet. Bless them with the faith to come into the full, saving knowledge of Christ. Your promises are great, eternal and “for whosoever will” receive them. We ask this all in the name of Jesus. Amen

Please be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and continue to pray however He leads you.

I want to end this post with a wonderful Psalm of protection & deliverance. The promises in Psalm 91 are for all who call on God as their Lord & Savior.

Peace and blessings today and everyday!

Psalm 91 Amplified Bible:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

[Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.
