When I took my car to the mechanic today, I parked in a spot that looked out on the road I drove in on. When I looked the way I came, I was struck by the message on the sign saying “Wrong Way” (picture posted below).
Because I was looking back where I had come from, the following scripture came to mind:
“…one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13b-14)
If you have given your life to Christ, do not look back on your old life, your old habits or old mindsets. Things like regret, condemnation, bad choices and harmful associations belong in your rear-view mirror. Looking back will not take you in the right direction…the righteous direction. Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep walking forward…He will lead you in the way you should go!

An Outstretched Hand 
It is always dangerous to look back! Ask Lot’s wife, she would have enough to tell you. It is much more dangerous to turn back, “If you laid your hand on the owe, there is no going back, so you don’t miss out on the roll call to enter into Paradise.”

I have been in situations that without God’s help, without the power of His Holy Spirit working on my behalf, I would not have been able to get free. Our God is faithful! I am praying for whatever situation Chris is stuck in, that God’s power will bring Chris out of it to a place of freedom, peace and joy.
