Prayer for Today

“Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again!
Give us back the joys we once had!
Or have you utterly rejected us?
Are you angry with us still?”

Lamentations 5:21-22 (NLT)

This prayer is specifically for the United States of America at this time. Please join me in agreement, if this speaks to your spirit today:

Holy Father, please restore us and bring us back to you, back to Your heart where we can worship You in spirit and in truth. Bless us with a hunger and thirst for righteousness that only You can satisfy.

Father, please bring new life to the lost. Open the eyes of the spiritually blind to see You as You truly are: beautiful, Holy, righteous and pure…merciful and compassionate, faithful and true.

Let our identity be found in You – in Christ; and not only found, but grounded in the truth of who You are and who You have created us to be. Reveal the lies of the enemy that seek to destroy your people and those who do not yet know you. You are not a god of confusion, but God of peace, love, joy, hope and righteousness. You don’t make mistakes. You have not created accidents or people to be thrown away or cast aside. You see the trouble we are going through; You know the pain we all feel and You are ready to come to our rescue!

Please send revival, the fire of Your presence, and turn our hearts back to you. Keep us from going our way in stubbornness, in disobedience, blinded by our own pride or fear, and bless us with the grace we need to trust You again.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
