What you Love Will Change You”

(Picture of Chihuahua held in hand)

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Colossians 3:2 – AKJV)

I heard about a woman in the advance stages of Anorexia who was on the point of dying. She had virtually given up the will to live.

This woman’s sister, desperate to do something to help her conceived the idea of giving her a pet to care for. At first her gift did not appear to change things, but gradually, as love for the animal took hold of her she began to be concerned for what would happen to her pet if she died. Fear of what would happen to her animal friend so took hold of her it overwhelmed her fear of putting on weight. She began to eat and was eventually restored to full health. Love for her pet had…

Genuine Faith

Your Father knows the times, the seasons and the reasons.

When we ask for His will to be done, we have to believe that it includes every minute detail necessary for triumph, for blessing, for the right outcome. For our good.

We may want to be rescued immediately, and if we do need IMMEDIATE rescue or deliverance (*from dangerous or abusive situations), be assured that your Heavenly Father will bring it. Just ask for His help.

But if for His purpose to be born, for His will in your life to be accomplished– if for a time you need to learn to wait patiently in His presence, with prayer and with praise, in hope and in faith, please know that He will:

 Keep you (Psalm 121)

Strengthen you (Isaiah 41:10)

Sustain you (Psalm 55:22)

Encourage you (Romans 15:4)

Comfort you (2 Corinthians 1:3-7)

Reveal Himself to you (Ephesians 3:14-21)

I have always been someone who wants to make other’s lives easier, to comfort, encourage, rescue and protect. It’s natural for a mom, for nurturing types to feel this way, but it’s not always what is best, not what is needed, for healthy growth and maturity.

Learn to rely on Him through His word, in faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit. You will be stronger and a greater blessing in God’s kingdom:

“… who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:5-7

1 Peter 1.7

* PLEASE seek help if you are in an abusive or dangerous situation. It is not God’s will for you (or your children) to tolerate this.
