Love Invites You- Come As You Are…

The following song has been playing over and over in my thoughts this morning.

As you read the words and listen to the music by Crowder, accept the invitation from God to receive His healing, His love, His protection, His mercy and His grace.

There is no need to clean up first or try to get yourself together.

Just come as you are:

Come out of sadness
From wherever you’ve been
Come broken hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are

There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t cure

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There’s joy for the morning
Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face

Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Come as you are

Unwind

It’s nice to come home after a long day at work and unwind.

Today I really needed to just sit and chill out.

No talking. No jumping into dinner preparations. No barking orders to children to work on homework.

I just needed quiet.

and peace.

So I piled up the pillows on my bed, leaned back, took a deep breath and told the Lord I really needed Him.

Then I just sat and thanked Him that:

He is always with me, all day long.

and

For the blessing of being able to just sit with Him and relax in His presence.

No pressure.

No performance issues.

No striving to be good enough or worrying about other things.

Just down-time with my Father– with my Lord.

What is better than that?

“He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul…”

Psalm 23:2-3a

Blessings tonight and everyday!

A Humble Request…

…and a powerful prayer:

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

You will see a quick answer to this request as you remain sensitive to His leading and aware of His Presence.

Blessings, peace and joy as you go about your day ❤

Courage for Today

The One who is your source says:

“I will make rivers flow on barren heights,
    and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.
I will put in the desert
the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set junipers in the wasteland,
the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know,
    may consider and understand,
that the hand of the Lord has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.”

Isaiah 41:18-20

When God decrees something, then you can declare it.

Speak words of life over yourself today. God’s words are life!

For His glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be One

When one of you says, “I am a follower of Paul,” and another says, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you acting just like people of the world?

After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us.

I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.”

1 Corinthians 3:4-6 New Living Translation

It is time for us to come together as the Church, as the Body of Christ, as God meant for us to be.

It doesn’t matter if one is Catholic, Methodist, denominational, non-denominational, traditional or Charismatic…

You are either a follower of Christ or you are not.

It’s that simple.

Jesus is the head of the Church, of His body. Lordship does not belong to any human man or woman. We have to learn to lay aside our differences and focus on what we have in common: Christ.

The Lord’s desire is that we, His followers, will be one (in unity), as He and the Father are one:

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me.

May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

John 17:20-23 NLT

We won’t agree on every little thing but we can agree on Truth. May our heart-cry for the church echo Paul’s words to the Ephesians:

“Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.”

“For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.”

Ephesians 4:1-6 NLT

Praying for the grace of God to bless each of us with the ability to walk these words out daily.

Blessings Church!
