Bless God

When you love someone, you want to see them blessed. You make their needs and desires a priority in your life, because true love, agape, is selfless.

Over and over in scripture, God professes His love and desire for us. His greatest expression of love is Jesus, and in that one sacrifice we see the great price that God paid to redeem us from death. And in laying down His life, we see the great length that Jesus went to in showing His love for His Father and for us.

But what about blessing God? Is it possible to bless a being who is all-sufficient and doesn’t need anything from us?

Yes, we can bless our Heavenly Father & Lord.

It blesses God when we believe Him, when we trust Him and take Him at His word. This goes beyond simply believing in the existence of God. Scripture tells us that demons believe in God— and they tremble at the thought of Him.

Faith pleases God. In fact, it’s impossible to please God apart from faith. When we choose to believe what God says in His word over that of human reasoning or societal trends, we bless God. When we trust that His way is right and true over our own thoughts or emotions, we bless God. When we cling to Him during times of trouble, we bless God. When we hold onto His promises in dark times, believing that He will faithfully bring us through to the light, we bless our God and King.

This kind of faith produces peace in our lives, allowing us to enter into His rest, confident that God loves us and is in complete control.

This kind of faith causes us to raise our voice in praise and worship, blessing the One who is worthy of all of our praise.

Bless God today. Thank Him for all the wonderful things He has already done in your life. Thank Him for His promises to you that are yet to be fulfilled!

If you are going through hard times and have forgotten what to be thankful for, God is merciful. Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of God’s goodness. Purposefully remember times He has helped you in the past. Then open your mouth and just start thanking Him for whatever you can think of– I promise it will do you good, too!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”

Prayer for Today

I received a prayer in my email today and it blessed me as I read through it.

As I prayed it over family, friends and co-workers it blessed me even more. I slowed down, allowing the Holy Spirit to expand and enlarge the prayer, and bring more people to mind.

God is so good, so faithful…

May it touch you and move you to call on God as well:

Today’s Prayer
God, today, I want to make time to pray for all the people I see on a regular basis: my co-workers (say names), my family (say names), my friends (say names), my neighbors (say names), my church leaders (say names). You know every need they have. I pray that You would give encouragement to the discouraged, good health to the unhealthy, money for the financially needy, peace to the restless, guidance to the lost or searching, and that You would meet any special needs that each of these people may have right now. God, I pray for their spiritual as well as physical needs. Work through me as you see fit to accomplish your plan and meet these needs. Please give me wisdom and guidance to know your will and help me to realize where there is a need to which I can minister. I thank You God, for hearing this prayer and for your answers. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Sharing a Word of the Week: Love Chastens

Today I am sharing an excellent teaching from Rick Joyner, founder of Morning Star Ministries & Publications. Rick has a gift for teaching the body of Christ, as well as a prophetic ministry based in Fort Mill, SC. His deep love for God and for fellow believers is evident in his teachings. Be blessed as he shines light into a much needed area of instruction for the present day Christian church:

Look Up- the view is better!

Mistakes, weaknesses and failures cannot stop the work of God in your life. He loves you dearly and knew all about your problems when He called you to be His child.

 He will work this out for you, whatever “this” happens to be. In truth, He will work it out so well that something good will come from all the bad. Your part is to believe and cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. Keep your ears open and listen to His instruction. You are an overcomer in Christ!

 Conversely, no amount of human effort or any worldly accolades you may obtain in this life will ever commend you to the One who judges righteousness by the standard of Christ. Break free from pride and self-righteousness knowing that you are loved unconditionally by Almighty God. Any effort apart from Christ is vain and worthless on that final day. Enjoy the peace that comes from knowing the One who lived perfectly on your behalf. The best gift any of us can receive comes when we finally learn that we aren’t all that and that God loves us anyway! What a wonderful God we have!

 Ask for help with SELF-consciousness and instead focus on God and the truth found in His word today:

“…for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh…” Philippians 3:3

Encouragement for Today

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely;

And may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

God's promise

God keeps His promises.

He hasn’t forgotten about you.

You are not alone.

Stay on course.

Rest in His love.

Be blessed as you go out (or stay in) today ❤
